Kuro no Kiseki Localisation News Coming 'As Soon as Possible', Falcom Hopes

Literally started Trails in the Sky for the first time yesterday. Looking forward to playing through them all.

I want to see the Trails in the Sky series ported to the PS5 and Switch.

thankfully no spoilers in this article xD yeah, it's practically an inevitability that it's gonna release in the west. And if not, this would be quite the reason for me to finally learn japanese^^ if any franchise would be worth "the trouble" it's this one

I actually still trying to finish up Azure. I blame SF6! Still though I'm excited to see the series getting the love it deserves. Truly one of the best RPG series out there!

Even if we never get ports of the sky trilogy. They could do it through the psp emulator surely?

I'm hoping its before nayuta, as its a spinoff and doesn't affect the 10+ game story directly though it may shed light on ouroboros grandmaster origins

Ive literally only just started trails of cold steel 2 a couple of days ago and the amount of lore you have to remember from the first game is insane. I would reccomend that you play these games in quick succession to get the best out of the story as leaving 12-18 months between each game could end up with you forgetting certain things especially as there's a lot of different things going on.

Trails in the Sky the Third will be next for me. I still have a long way to go.

Are they trying to go at it alone or in parallel with NISA? I don't understand, it was obvious they would eventually translate these games, but NISA has like 10 projects already in the pipeline.

My only hope is when do announce it, it won't be 2 whole years of wait like last time! Crossing my fingers they've started working on the project already and only waiting for the right timing to announce it.

@chibuki I would imagine YS X takes priority as far as NISA goes. That's the bigger seller.

Best JRPG series of all time and it’s not even close. Reverie is amazing so far too.

I'm hoping TGS will unveil a lot of new Trails news. Fingers crossed for a Sky re-release for consoles.

It's been confirmed "unofficially" for a while already. NISA themselves published Kuro no Kiseki on Steam with no option for English yet - they did the same with Nayuta: Boundless Trails, which'll get an English update the moment it releases on consoles. Durante (the guy responsible for the port) also basically already came out and said it's coming.

Hasn't kuro 2 already released too? Perhaps we will get another 6 month or so apart release.
Feels crazy to actually getting nearer to catching up with japan.

I played Kuro 1 in Japanese it's a great game. Second game isn't as good from what I've played of it.

I would love if we got a Kuro localization announcement this year that would be great I would genuinely love that as that is my most anticipated RPG ever right now I think. But now I’m sorry I gotta call out this article for a little BS if you ask me. Now I’m no localizer so I don’t know how hard a game like say reverie is to localize but the line and I quote “ That's because NIS America — Falcom's publisher here in the West — has been extremely busy in its quest to localise the latest Trails games, making sure that audiences outside of Japan are caught up on the franchise as quickly as possible.” Is just complete BS. If that was true when they announced these games coming over about 2 years ago they would have been like “Zero is available today and azure by the end of the year.” And so on and so forth at a more decent pace. At that time the latest release was Cold Steel IV for PS in late 2020 and Switch in April of 2021. The concert announcements were like July of 2021 and they wanted you to wait at least for the localization of the PSP game with no English VAs and with assistance from the fan translation a year and a half and for reverie a full 3 years since it’s release. Kuro 1 alone will also be most likely 3 full years since it’s release too. So I would say they took what was a decent pace with Cold Steel 3 and 4 and shot themselves in the foot. I do apologize for ranting like this but honestly with big games like FFXVI and VII Rebirth, SMTV and presumably P3RE and Metaphor and all sorts of RPGs from all sorts of company’s getting Worldwide launches Falcon really needs to step up and join the crew in that regard. And to make it seem otherwise to me is just making excuses for failures. Again sorry for the rant I’ve honestly been pissed about this topic for years since the concert.
