All joking aside though he does look pretty cool. I like the new look much more than his original costume.

Hopefully I'll have better luck against him in 6! I always struggled against him in V.

I strongly dislike losing to Modern controls and think some more balancing needs to hit the game soon. But it’s a great game and i am glad to be back to playing fighting games, can’t get past Gold tier at the moment. Feel like i used to be better at SF and MK & Tekken back in the day. Still enjoying it tho when i can pull away from Diablo 4.

@HonestHick I mean a good classic control player should always beat a good modern controls player, not only that but modern controls deal less damage. I think the bigger issue are characters like Zangief do deal stupid amounts of damage with very little work required.

He looks amazing but he's going to be a pain to deal with🤣. Capcom going above and beyond with his animations. They did a fantastic job with him in this game.

@HonestHick I am generally winning vs modern control players and I think they are at disadvantage in neutral. That said, the fact that modern controls can punish a single whiff with an automatic combo complete with a level 2 or 3 super that will never drop is definitely OP and I hope it will be balanced out. It’s a nice option to welcome newcomers but needs to be fine tuned for sure.

@WallyWest you answered the debate in your last sentence. Massive amounts of damage with very little work required, Zangief aside, the human element comes into play when having to press more input’s to pull off a move match after match after match. Most of these players can’t pull off high damage moves. They certainly can’t do it 100% of the time under high stress. Do i beat most of them? Kind of, a lot of not great but not bad classic players are enjoying hitting two buttons to do massive damage. While i have to perform way harder, hey in non ranked matches, absolutely. But i am of the age and honesty of you have to put in the work to be good at something, if you want to compete you have to practice. Do i want that to kill the sales of fighting games? No, but you don’t get watered down controls to feel like a winner. If i used modern controls i would probably win 65% of my matches and i would feel like a loser. Integrity is something of value. Yes i feel this strongly against modern controls and never give them a like after the match. Otherwise this is a insanely great Street Fighter and Capcom is back and i am excited and happy for them. 😊

@HonestHick It's funny, I still forget to switch to classic sometimes when messing around in the combo challenges. It would be nice if there were a universal setting. I've had some trouble with high damage modern players, but it feels like they spam special moves and drive impacts until they're blue in the face and ignore their regulars. Also, they seem to forget to block low for some reason.

My biggest challenge with the game has been playing in battle hub against people who have perfected really nasty move strings. I lost repeatedly to a Juri the other day where if I guessed wrong once, it felt like I was locked into a crouching block for an age. I'm sure there was something I could have done, but I'm still learning Manon and don't know the answers yet to a lot of the problems I run into. Still, this is a monstrously good game.

@Amnesiac great post and points made. I agree. Haha it’s funny you said they can’t block low. I get so much low damage on them all the time. I guess it’s a thing. Yeah the battle hub matches are just ok. But i agree the game is really good. Not perfect, still needs some work but it’s on the right track.

@HonestHick The game doesn't need any balance changes. If you're stuck in Gold that means there's probably some matchup knowledge you don't have, so you're getting blown up for it.

Even pro players' opinions on the best characters/strategies aren't set in stone right now. Their tier lists usually put Ken, Cammy, Dee Jay, Juri, and Guile at the top, yet a Blanka and a Marisa won the last two major tournaments. The meta is shifting around constantly at all levels. That discovery period is such a cool part of playing/watching a new competitive game, more people need to embrace it instead of asking for balance changes as soon as they hit a wall.

@d62c25m i use Blanka and Guile and fighting games ALWAYS need a balancing in the beginning. They will come. I can just tell where the meta is at the moment and i like it. But certain characters are a little too underwhelming. The game is awesome. If it wasn’t for Diablo 4, i would put more time into it and try and get much better. 😊
